Do Drop Curtains Fail in High Winds?

December 24, 2014/0 Comments/in Products Patio Enclosures and Outdoor Sun Shades/by Valerie Foley

If you’re asking yourself whether or not patio enclosure kits can withstand strong winds, you’re probably already aware of some of the challenges that many consumers have faced with traditionally manufactured drop curtains. Our products are different–and those differences make our drop curtains the strongest on the market.

Do Drop Curtains Fail in High Wind?

Sometimes, yes. Many manufacturers of patio enclosures use a stitching process that creates small perforations where the vinyl is joined. Under daily stress of normal weather, not even high wind stress, those perforations often become the spot of patio enclosure failure. Our patio enclosure kits are made differently. Rather than stitching the vinyl together, we use a radio frequency welding process to join our industrial grade vinyl together, cementing the bond without creating a weak point in the clear vinyl. This process, combined with the quality of our materials, makes our patio enclosure kits the strongest on the market.

What Happens When Drop Curtains Fail in High Wind?

Well, somewhat obviously, your investment for your enclosed patio is now ruined. Rather than continue to protect your home or business entirely, they will either partially or completely stop working. That leaves half of your patio vulnerable to the elements and you looking for another patio enclosure kit to invest in. In the moment of failure, you may also have had belongings damaged or, worse, someone would have been hurt in the process. Most people don’t realize that many drop curtains are not secured, so they fly around in high wind. Ours are secure and tightly fit to your space. Our screens can even serve as a windbreak even for gusts up to 45 mph. To serve our customers in more gusty locations, we also have our High Wind motorized panels, which offers protection for up to 65 mph gusts.

Our solutions are different–and that makes our patio enclosures the best on the market. Let us show you why our commercial window panels are the best option for you–and you’ll never have to worry whether or not our drop curtains fail in high wind.
