Restaurant Updates. What’s Worth It.

March 11, 2022/in Commercial/by Valerie Foley

Have you wondered lately if parts of your restaurant are looking as crusty as a day-old-baguette? Maybe it’s time for a refresh. A renovation can boost sales and keep your eatery competitive.

A Priceless First Impression brass tap outdoor patio screensin prosper texas

Walk toward your place with a first-timer mindset. Do customers see your signage? Does your restaurant feel approachable and look like there’s a great meal ahead? When’s the last time you touched up your front door? An improvement outside can be as simple as a fresh coat of paint, replacing a torn awning or repairing brickwork. You want to look “worth it” in every way before guests make their way in.

Color Sends a Message

Invoke the perfect mood with the right tones for your restaurant’s brand and menu. Darker tones can make a space feel intimate. Lighter cream tones and whites open up a small space. If your restaurant is ethnic, leaning into the colors that celebrate its roots can make your space feel more authentic. Earth tones add a warmth to spaces that encourages upscale lingering. It’s said that terracotta or orange stimulates the appetite. And green can be an excellent choice for healthier, fresh menus.

Floor Them

Unavoidable spills can take a toll on even the most high-end flooring. If it’s time for an update, consider a low maintenance choice that’s forgiving on stains. Like walls, floors eat up most of the visual space in your restaurant. So, color is important here as well. The new engineered hardwoods work in just about any space these days, offering a modern look that’s attractive and easily cleaned.

The Bathroom is Big Deal

Many customers judge a restaurant’s cleanliness, reliability, and hospitality by the rest room. Don’t underestimate its importance. Everything needs to be in working order and look attractive from underfoot to overhead. Something as simple as a broken soap dispenser can get the wrong kind social media attention now that everyone’s “suggestions” are out there for the world to see digitally. New fixtures and an updated mirror can spiff things up more than you imagine. Consider putting the light on a dimmer too to soften the look.

Seating and Table Talk

Your furniture needs to look clean and feel comfortable. What’s faded or stained will be noticed from tablecloths to chairs or banquette fabrics. A wobbly table can try guests’ patience as they cut into their meal. Nobody likes that matchbook under the table leg trick. These elements of your restaurant’s décor are literally right under everyone’s noses. So, some staining, painting, re-upholstering, or replacing could be one of the smartest investments you make this year.

Smart Dining Upgrades

Technology is changing restaurants at warp speed. Is it time for you to upgrade software for bookings, waitlists, and reservations? Or to provide your wait staff with tablets? Guests who are digitally connected right from their tables get the bill faster or ask for a refill on their own terms. This improves a meal out while building loyalty and increasing revenue. Automation often reduces your operation costs and staffing needs as well.

The Green Outdoors

With all the attention being paid to outdoor seating these days, you may be considering sprucing up what’s beyond your interior. Would it serve you to add an awning for shade? Maybe you want a play area to keep young ones entertained. How about adding some new plants or maybe a fire pit for natural ambiance? It may also be time to add a formal patio or patio enclosure, which can add revenue with additional seating.

A restaurant often can’t do it all at once. Prioritizing makes sense. Sometimes financing does too. When adding an outdoor patio enclosure for instance, we connect our clients with a partner who works with restaurants. Their financing considers the seasonal revenue flux many eateries experience. Deferred or seasonal payment plans can make renovations possible if you want to get the work going right now. Taking pride in your restaurant can pay dividends financially. It also gives you, your staff, and your guests a lift emotionally.

Restaurant Rooftop Patios, All Upside

December 10, 2021/in Commercial/by Valerie Foley

A cool breeze, a sweeping skyline view and a refreshing beverage in hand. What could be better than a rooftop patio? A restaurant lucky enough to have the top floor can set its sights higher with a rooftop patio expansion. Enclosing a space like this keeps a 360-degree view accessible and comfortable for more of the year. And of course, maximizing seating this way gets great press as selfies in the clouds of happy guests pop up on social media.

Higher Up Means Stronger Materials rooftop restaurants with patio enclosures

Once you pass the second or third floor, the possibility of increased winds is always there. Any choice you make from furniture to greenery to the enclosure itself needs to keep that in mind. For security and durability, experienced custom enclosure designers recommend top-of-the-line motorized shades made with high-grade, commercial materials for these installations. With a touch of a button, guests are protected in just a few seconds and your shades aren’t flopping around when a breeze kicks up.

Experts Only

Finding the right team is key. Not everyone is experienced enough to take on a project like this. First, getting building materials to the roof can be a challenge. Cranes and lifts often need to be used. Workers will then have to work from inside those lifts. Safety zones need to be created for workers, the ground below, and the building itself. And of course, the team needs to be mindful of any power lines or other obstacles nearby.

The Skyline in Your Eyeline

That may sound like a lot, but not for the professional installers who have the know-how. Once completed, your restaurant has an immense view and that once empty patio is now filled with happy, paying customers. So, when you can’t go out, consider going up to max out revenue. And as always, if you have any questions our experts are ready to offer any advice or suggestions.

Choosing a Patio Enclosure for the Winter

January 6, 2020/in Commercial, Commercial Enclosed Patio, Motorized Patio Enclosures, Patio Enclosure, Patio Enclosures/by Valerie Foley

It’s the start of the new year and you’re probably thinking of different ways you can increase your restaurant’s revenue. If you were forced to close down your outdoor environment during the cold season, installing a patio enclosure is the perfect solution! An enclosed patio makes it easier to provide customers with a cozy and inviting atmosphere, enjoy extra seating, and allow you to boost your revenue.

Optimize Seating Capacity hats creek patio screens enclosure

A crowded dining room can lead to uncomfortable seating options, long waits, and dissatisfied patrons. Enclosures allow businesses to benefit from increasing their seating options and maintaining a more enjoyable atmosphere for customers. Our manual screen systems can cover widths of 60 feet or wider, ensuring you are making full use of your restaurant’s porch, deck, or patio area by effectively increasing your seating options. They are also our more economical option, with business owners usually seeing a return in their investment within 2-3 months.

Our sophisticated motorized enclosures can also be customized to meet your needs, extending up to 20 feet wide without having to build additional beams. Easy to use, they are our fastest deploying system, lowering up to 16 screens at once with a push of a button.

Protection from All Environmental Factors

As a business owner, you want to make sure your outdoor dining guests have an enjoyable experience, protected from all kinds of weather. At Southern Patio Enclosures, our unique manufacturing process enables our curtains to endure extreme weather conditions longer than any competitor. Our manual enclosures protect against 45 mph winds and our motorized screens are manufactured to endure up to 65 mph winds. For maximum wind resistance, our motorized systems can be upgraded to be hurricane-resistant, withstanding winds of up to 120 mph.

During the off-season, the hand-rolled enclosures can be easily removed from their track and stored away until the next season. When not in use, our motorized enclosures completely retract into their hood, blending in completely with your outside design. You can also further optimize your patio screens by pairing our systems with our effective sun shade material to create a comfortable and cool outdoor space during the hot summers.

Creating a Relaxing Atmosphere

Outdoor seating can offer a different, more relaxed experience to your diners, away from the clamor of the kitchen and loud chatter from other tables. Seating that provides an unobstructed view of the skyline, natural areas or seasonal displays can also make an ideal backdrop for an enjoyable meal or night out. Our all-weather patio enclosures are a simple way to allow customers to use your outdoor area comfortably during the colder months of winter. Both of our systems can be paired with patio heaters, fireplaces, and fire pits to deliver a cozy outdoor experience to your guests!

New Year, New Solutions!

From easy-to-use manual screens to remote-operated enclosures that offer superior convenience and protection from the elements, business and commercial property owners can confidently trust in our systems to enhance their customers’ experience. Contact us today for more information!

Whether you are a small business owner or managing a large corporate location, patio enclosures are an important investment in your overall profitability. When you can keep your outdoor space protected, comfortable, and full of paying customers, you improve your bottom line. But a large investment can sometimes be difficult to handle all at one time, and we understand that. That’s why we are proud to partner with Vend Lease, a direct lender that specializes in adapting to small businesses, start-ups, and companies who need a different approach in financing.

Flexible Financing for Your Patio Enclosures

When you speak with our design team and decide on your customized café blinds, you might not be thinking about how you can customize your financing as well. But Vend Lease does exactly that. Understanding your need to control the cash flow in your business, financing does not require large down payments and Vend Lease can offer you seasonal payment plans, deferred payments, or step or skip plans. Vend Lease’s goal is to help you maximize your cash flow and your profitable seasons to help you order, install, and start using your patio enclosures as quickly as possible.

Vend Lease is a direct lender, so that means your application for patio enclosures and café blinds will be assessed quickly. A small family-owned restaurant in Round Rock, TX that needs cafe blinds for their outdoor patio will get the same quick approval that a large hotel in Georgetown, TX might. No dollar or term restrictions are a part of your package, so you don’t have to worry if you are a brand new or small business.

Adaptable Account Options for Ordering Your Patio Enclosures

One of the things that sets Vend Lease apart, besides their friendly approach to complicated business situations, is their adaptable account options. What does that mean? Let’s say you order a set of patio enclosures and then decide to add café blinds that block 90% of the summer heat and glare and can be used independently from the patio enclosures that serve as a strong barrier against inclement weather throughout the year. Rather than having to create two accounts, one for patio enclosures and one for café blinds, you can add multiple suppliers onto one account or even add on to an existing account. This flexible financing offers your business tremendous flexibility as well as the luxury of time. You can carefully decide what options work best for your location, without feeling pressured to make a hasty decision or lose the opportunity for financing.

Vend Lease also encourages early payoffs by removing all penalties against pre-payment or early buyouts. In fact, early buyouts are discounted to customers, making financing your cafe blinds more comfortable for people who want to quickly pay off their accounts. Don’t like the idea of having a payment hanging over your head? Install your cafe blinds and enter your busy season in Sun City, TX prepared to maximize your outdoor spaces and reap the rewards. With a busier season and no change in available seating or entertaining space, you can maximize your profit margin and put all of that money toward your Vend Lease with zero penalty!

Customize Your Patio Enclosures, Customize Your Financing

Any worries you might have about customizing your cafe blinds and automatic outdoor sun shades with Southern Patio Enclosures will change to excitement when you chat with one of our customer service specialists. Make Your Cold Outdoor Space Work for You Regardless of Weather

September 11, 2014/0 Comments/in Commercial/by Valerie Foley

A green thumb can be quite a burden when the calendar turns toward winter and early spring and you own a wedding pavilion. If you want to keep your plants blooming and thriving, you probably spend much of your time covering and uncovering your garden and fretting about whether or not they’re surviving. You don’t have to do that—with an enclosed porch, you’ll not only be able to entertain during the colder months but also can turn your porch into a protective barrier between the cold and your tender plants.

A Cold Pavilion Can Be An Adaptable Greenhouse

Even in the coldest weather, our porch enclosures can shield your outdoor space from freezes, rain, and wind of winter. You can use that cold weather pavilion as an extension of your customers’s dining area, warming the space by at least ten degrees simply by lowering the walls. That ten-degree difference can be the difference between plants surviving or plants dying during a cold snap. You’ll be able to nurture tender seedlings even before the ground thaws, without all of the stress—simply because you have a cold pavilion with protective vinyl walls.

Our Protected Porches Offer A Multitude of Entertaining Solutions

Even if you are the best gardener in your state, you’re not likely to invest in a protected pavilion simply for your plants. But creating a cold weather patio can be as beneficial to your winter survival as it can be for your plants. Enjoy the weather, the view, without suffering from the elements. Add an energy-efficient heater to make the space even more comfortable and enjoy the comfort that a newly protected, cozy, cold weather pavilion offers you. No rain, chilly breeze, or other winter weather will bother you, your guests or your plants—and when spring comes, the patio walls can go up and the plants can go in the ground!

Need Patio Remodel Ideas for Your Business? Let Us Help!

September 11, 2014/0 Comments/in Commercial/by Valerie Foley

Maybe you haven’t carefully considered your patio remodel options, or perhaps all of the options seemed too expensive or involved. Have you considered patio enclosures as a viable option? Your business can benefit from a customized patio enclosure, and our version of the remodel is much less time and cash intensive. Let us show you one example.

One Patio Remodel Idea, Courtesy of Don Carlos Mexican Restaurant

Don Carlos Mexican Restaurant sits in the heart of Waco, Texas—better known as Bear Country to Baylor fans. Don Carlos is the self-proclaimed home of Waco’s Authentic Mexican cuisine, but their disheveled patio was in desperate need of a remodel. Honestly, no one really questions their claims to authenticity when they’re enjoying a beverage and watching a game or shoving the incredible Senor Grande in their face. A five-pound burrito worthy of its own culinary challenge is not something you quibble about—but you do want a space that’s fun and comfortable to snarf down an “authentic” Mexican meal like that one. Don Carlos simply didn’t have that—their patio needed a remodel to allow for new and old customers to truly enjoy the atmosphere and food.

New Patio Remodel Opens Up More Room for New Friends

Our patio remodel for Don Carlos has allowed them to capitalize on the new Baylor football stadium and all the travelers who will be coming to enjoy fall and football in Waco. We created an enclosed patio that is customer friendly, a remodel that will allow the restaurant to create year-round usable seating area with the addition of heating in the winter and cooling in the summer. The addition of this patio remodel creates a perfect location for large group events, like business get-togethers, birthday parties, game day functions, or just weekly dinners with a side of spicy Mexican fun.

Patio Enclosures Should Be Customized to Your Needs

Nobody wants to hear a patio remodel idea that creates a space that doesn’t match the existing structure. We don’t believe in ugly, unwelcoming, or unplanned ever, so we customize every job to match the décor and the space. In the case of Don Carlos’s remodel, we matched the enclosures to their signature red sign while providing plenty of clear vinyl windows to create a beautiful view for customers.

Southern Patio Enclosures Saves Black Sheep Lodge

February 7, 2014/in Commercial/by Valerie Foley

Black Sheep Lodge

When you’ve been voted the Best Burger in South Austin, Texas, you better be prepared for hordes of hungry customers. If Texans know anything, it’s beef—and when Texas Monthly bestowed that beefy honor on the Black Sheep Lodge, an unassuming burger and beer joint, the neighborhood fixture was sure that they’d see the increase in revenue right away. When Texas Monthly then named them #27 in the entire state? Yeah—the customers started pouring in.

But where do you PUT them all? They’d hoped to make use of their large outdoor patio, with picnic-style seating and plenty of room to enjoy a hearty meal with a few friends, all year round. They’d invested in a patio enclosure for that purpose, but after only three years found that it was basically unusable as anything other than an elaborate curtain that did basically nothing in cold, windy, or rainy weather. If you’ve been around Texas for any period of time at all, you know one of those words could describe the weather in virtually any season. A chilly day in winter or fall? Half the seating—gone. A blustery spring day? Uncomfortable for patrons, so a no go. A rainy summer afternoon? No place outside to sit without getting a soggy bun on that award-winning burger.

Enter Southern Patio Enclosures

Southern Patio Enclosures customized a solution to fit their unique circumstances—a street-facing patio on the front of the business that doesn’t want to block the view to make the patio feel smaller. We decided on a clear vinyl enclosure that was not only easy on the eyes but durable enough to handle the Texas weather of any season, with a black trim to match their logo.

And talk about perfect timing—we finished the job just as UT began their bowl game. Southern Patio Enclosures literally watched as a swarm of customers filled the patio to stay awhile and root for the Longhorns. Fun for customers—ROI for Black Sheep Lodge.

That’s a win-win (even if it wasn’t for the Longhorns this year).
