Cheba Hut, South Austin: A Corner Patio in Cheba Green
Cheba Hut is a franchise sub shop with a loud look, and the South Austin store wears it: a black mesh tower over a wood-wrapped patio on a busy corner. The owner wanted the patio open through the winter without a single thing that looked bolted on. The curtains came in Cheba green with clear windows, the frames in black, and the whole thing disappears into the hoods when the weather turns.
What we built
- Customer: Cheba Hut, South Austin, Texas, a franchise store.
- 4 motorized curtains in green with clear vinyl windows, mounted in hoods under the roof edge on both street sides of the corner.
- 1 fixed panel at the short return.
- 2 framed doors in green on black frames, with panic hardware added in March 2026.
- 5 posts to carry the hoods where the patio had no header.

Four steps, December 2025 to February 2026
- December 5, 2025: deposit received.
- December 11, 2025: design consultation on site, five posts set out and the two door locations fixed at the corner.
- January 2026: into manufacturing.
- February 3, 2026: installed. Signed off February 11, panic bars added in March.
What made this one different
Color and corner. The green is matched to the brand, which sounds simple until it has to sit next to a black mesh tower and a wood base and look like it was always there. The corner has two long sides, so the curtains run in two directions from the same post and the doors land where guests already walk in from the lot.
