Fuzzy’s Taco Shop: 14 Franchise Patios in Four States

Fuzzy’s is a franchise system, so every store belongs to a different owner and every patio was a separate decision. Since 2014 fourteen of those owners, in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Missouri, have made the same one. The patios range from a red manual enclosure on a Waco porch to black motorized curtains on a Colorado prairie to the 2023 Oklahoma City store, where yellow motorized curtains sit inside a turquoise breeze-block wall and look like part of the architecture.

Fourteen owners, one process

A franchise patio has no corporate design file to follow, so each owner gets the design consultation, a layout matched to the store’s colors, and a quote they can take to the franchisor. The owners talk to each other. The Colorado stores came in a row in 2018 and 2019, and the Texas owners have kept us on their lists for a decade.

What made this one different

Range. The same company that put red hand-rolled panels on a Waco porch for one owner built the Oklahoma City store’s yellow motorized curtains for another, and Fort Collins got 22 manual panels for a patio that sees Colorado wind. Every one of them is a Fuzzy’s and none of them look alike, which is how a franchise patio should go.
