Chuy’s, Manor, Texas: Motorized Curtains Built Around the Downspouts
Chuy’s is one of the Texas names we have built for most often. The Manor location, in the Austin area, got the same motorized system we installed at their Abilene restaurant in 2025. The approval layout uses Abilene as its reference and says the clear-window option matches it. What was new at Manor was the building. Gutter downspouts ran through the openings, a heater sat in the way, and a 2.5-inch gap needed closing at the wall.
What we built
- Customer: Chuy’s Tex-Mex, Manor, one of the Chuy’s locations we have enclosed.

- 8 fixed panels, including one above each door and one closing a gap at the building wall.
- 2 exit doors with heavy-duty closers.
- 4 added 2x2 posts, placed to work around the downspouts.
- Curtain height of 138 inches (11 feet 6 inches). Widths run from 71 to 240 inches.
- Frame color: Bronze, matched to the gutters.
- 2 five-channel remotes.

Four steps, July to September 2026
- Jul 16, 2026: deposit received.
- Aug 11, 2026: design consultation. Our designer measured on site. The approval layout is dated Aug 17.
- Late August 2026: into manufacturing. The fixed-panel order went in on Aug 21 with a four-week ship time; the motorized curtain order followed on Sep 2.
- Sep 18 to 25, 2026: installation. The crew worked nights so the restaurant could keep serving, and the job was signed off complete on Sep 25.

What made this one different: the downspouts
Most patios give you clean openings. This one had gutter downspouts in the way. Our designer drew four 2x2 posts into the layout because of them, drew a fixed panel to close a 2.5-inch gap at the building wall, and noted a heater that had to be moved. All of it was on the approval layout before the fixed-panel order went in. That is the point of the design consultation: the surprises show up on paper, not on install night.
