What Oklahoma patios need

Wind is the first thing an Oklahoma patio has to deal with. It carries the cold in winter and pushes napkins, menus and heat around in summer, and guests leave a patio that cannot hold them. Clear vinyl breaks the wind at the edges so tables stay comfortable, and Nano shade fabric handles the afternoon sun. Motorized systems carry the higher wind ratings, which matters on exposed sites.

Systems

Motorized. Motorized panels ride in keder track and run from a remote. They are rated to 65 mph deployed, which suits exposed sites. MaxView clear panels reach 24 feet wide. Motors have a 5-year warranty and workmanship carries 3 years.

Roll-up clear vinyl. Hand-rolled rope-and-pulley panels cost less and use the same commercial vinyl, with RF-welded seams and D-ring tie-downs. They are rated to 45 mph tied down. Panels run to 12 feet wide and zip together to span 60 feet, backed by a 3-year warranty against manufacturer defects.

Sun shades. Nano fabric blocks up to 97 percent of the sun and drops patio temperature about 10°F, motorized or rope-and-pulley. All vinyl is NFPA 701 certified.
